Larock’s Clinical Lab Assistant certificate program prepares students to work in doctor’s offices, in and outpatient labs, research labs, hospitals, clinics, and testing centers. Clinical Lab Assistants are a vital part of the laboratory and work closely with phlebotomists.
As a Clinical Lab Assistant, you will work under the supervision of a physician or a lab technician or technologist to gather, prepare, and help them with their examination of specimens. Generally, your main job tasks include performing lab and administrative tasks as necessary, such as ensuring proper special handling procedures are followed, preparing slides or cultures, and making sure the lab complies with all regulations and laws. You will also use a microscope to count red and white blood cells, detect the growth of bacteria, and perform various other tests.
The Clinical Lab Assistant Program is a key component of the Blood Lab Specialist combo Program. Larock’s combo Programs allow students the opportunity to apply for a variety of different healthcare positions and are crucial in making graduates more marketable to employers.
